BABYMONSTER Releases Pop Ballad “DESERVE” Ahead of Weekend Performances

BABYMONSTER released its digital single “DESERVE” at 1 p.m. Friday, moving toward a more intimate pop sound. The ballad highlights the members’ singing and presents a more mature musical direction than the group’s hip-hop and dance-focused tracks.

The song combines expressive synthesizer melodies with a retro feel. Its lyrics look back on shared memories and express a wish for a former partner’s happiness. The arrangement builds in emotional intensity as it reaches the chorus. In the accompanying music video, cinematic imagery and connected character stories reflect the song’s wistful tone, with dramatic effects growing more pronounced.

“DESERVE” follows the group’s June single, “SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA,” by about four months. The new release offers another side of the seven-member act as it explores a broader range of sounds. BABYMONSTER is scheduled to perform the song on MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on Saturday and SBS’ “Inkigayo” on Sunday.
