BTS’ ‘ARIRANG’ Passes 5 Billion Spotify Streams

BTS’ fifth studio album, “ARIRANG,” has passed 5 billion streams on Spotify, the group’s label, BigHit Music, said. The total makes it the leading album among releases this year, ahead of Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” by 2 billion streams.

The album’s streaming total is also higher than those reported for recent releases by Bruno Mars and Harry Styles, which have collected about 1 billion and 2 billion streams, respectively. “Swim,” the lead track, is nearing 1 billion streams. Each of the album’s 14 songs has passed 200 million, including “No. 29,” which features the tolling of the Sacred Bell of King Seongdeok of the ancient Silla kingdom.

“ARIRANG” drew attention as BTS’ first full-group project in nearly four years. The album arrived after the members completed their mandatory military service and reunited. Its performance on Spotify places it at the top of this year’s album releases, while every track has reached a substantial streaming milestone.
