Former ADOR Executive Indicted Over Alleged Access to HYBE Files
A former ADOR vice president identified as L has been summarily indicted over alleged unauthorized access to confidential HYBE files. On Oct. 15, prosecutors at the Anyang Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office requested a fine of 5 million won under South Korea’s Information and Communications Network Act.
L previously worked in HYBE departments including finance, joining the company in December 2019 and leaving in January 2024. After moving to ADOR on Feb. 1, 2024, L retained individual access to HYBE folders, prosecutors said. They allege L accessed a financial closing documents folder from ADOR’s office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on April 8 and downloaded files 51 times. The materials reportedly included HYBE financial statements, income statements, other financial records, and regional artist revenue data from 2021 and 2022.
Prosecutors said the alleged access exceeded L’s authorization and involved confidential information. The source also describes L as a key figure who worked with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, including on materials about HYBE executives and protest letters attributed to NewJeans members’ parents. A summary indictment asks a court to decide on a fine through written review; the defendant can object and seek a formal trial. The law cited carries a possible sentence of up to five years in prison or a fine of up to 50 million won.
