Gangnam Festival to Feature Psy, K-pop Stars and Street Parade

Gangnam’s annual festival will bring a street parade, K-pop stars and a large concert featuring Psy to the district this weekend. The event is being presented as part of Gangnam’s effort to attract visitors from around the world.

The 15th Gangnam Festival will run from Saturday through Monday. Its main street activities are scheduled for Dosan-daero, a road that passes through Cheongdam-dong. The program will include the parade and other festival events across Gangnam.

Speaking at Seoul City Hall on Monday, Gangnam-gu Mayor Kim Hyeon-ki said the district hopes to expand the festival until Gangnam becomes closely associated with K-festivals. The event’s international ambitions add a broader focus to its annual program, while its music and street performances remain central attractions.
