i-dle’s Soyeon Tops Major Charts With Work-Themed Solo Track

Soyeon, the leader of K-pop girl group i-dle, has taken the top spot on major South Korean music charts with her solo track “I’m Gonna Toesa (feat. Kian84).” The song’s theme of quitting work has connected with office workers and other listeners.
As of 10 a.m. Monday, the track ranked first on Melon’s Top 100 chart. It also led the real-time charts on Genie, Vibe, Flo and Bugs. “Toesa” is the Korean word for quitting a job.
The song serves as the lead track of Soyeon’s first full-length solo album, “What a Wonderful Life,” which was released Sept. 7. It features a band-driven sound and direct lyrics about resigning from work, along with narration from cartoonist and television personality Kian84.
