Lisa Gives First Live Performance of ‘Sawadika’ at 2026 MTV VMAs

Lisa performed “Sawadika” live for the first time at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The new single, released earlier this month, was presented at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles as part of her current solo era.

The performance drew from the boxing concept featured in the song’s music video. Lisa delivered intense choreography while moving across the stage, including a sequence on a moving platform that she later climbed onto. The staging combined elements of a boxing match with the energy of a nightclub.

“Sawadika” highlights Lisa’s return to rap, with the artist delivering the song’s bars in the sharp style associated with her work. Thom Bridges and songwriting duo Ojivolta produced the track. It serves as an early preview of Lisa’s upcoming EP, “Press Play,” which is scheduled for release on Oct. 23 through LLOUD Co./RCA Records.
