PLEDIS Updates Fans on Legal Action Protecting SEVENTEEN

PLEDIS Entertainment has provided an update on its legal response to actions targeting SEVENTEEN. In a statement shared on September 28, the agency said it is pursuing cases involving false information, insults, and sexual defamation, using evidence gathered through its monitoring system and reports from fans. The update covers proceedings underway in the third quarter of 2026.

The agency said complaints have been filed against people who created malicious posts, with several cases moving through the judicial process. One defendant convicted of malicious defamation received a first-trial fine of 2 million won and has appealed. PLEDIS also reported that professional ticket scalpers have been apprehended, with some receiving prison sentences of one year and eight months or one year and four months. Their combined forfeiture exceeded 1 billion won.

PLEDIS said monitoring continues across domestic and international online communities, music platforms, and social media. The agency stated that its system can help identify authors and preserve evidence even when posts are deleted. Investigations into additional ticket scalpers, including some based overseas, are also continuing with cooperation from investigative authorities. The company said it will continue taking legal action against conduct that infringes on the artists’ rights.
