Yuqi to release self-written Chinese mini-album 27

Yuqi is set to release her second mini-album, 二十七 (27), on Thursday, marking her solo return after a year and one month. The i-dle member wrote and composed all six songs on the Chinese-language project.

The album uses a sunflower as its central image. It represents anxieties kept beneath a bright exterior, alongside a continued effort to turn toward the sun. The project’s themes include vulnerability and self-love as Yuqi reflects on turning 27.

Before the album’s release, its pre-release song “I Like You” topped YouTube’s daily trending music video charts in Singapore and Hong Kong. It also appeared on charts in more than half a dozen countries, including Canada and Australia. The release follows Yuqi’s previous solo outing and continues her work as a songwriter and composer.
